Meet Erin and Patrick, who eloped earlier this year in Queenstown, New Zealand. Their special day was spent amongst the snow capped mountains and crisp winter air, bringing a special kind of magic to their private ceremony, and making it a day they will never forget.
How would you describe your wedding day?
Our day was perfect in every sense. We chose to elope in secret so that we could enjoy the day with no stress. This allowed us to really soak in the day and each other's company.
How has your love story unfolded?
We met on Christmas day at a mutual friends party and interacted for all of 30 seconds. I walked away feeling like I had known him my whole life. We met again on New Years Eve and have been by each other’s side ever since. Our journey has seen us through many adventures together. Every day has felt so natural, we have always done things our way.
When asked why they chose Found Treasure, Erin said “I have always loved Naomi's talent. When we decided to move ahead with our elopement we knew we wanted something handcrafted just for us which is why we chose to work with Naomi.” We appreciate every opportunity to create symbols of love and bands that are as unique as your love story.
What was your bespoke experience like?
We are both so in love with our rings. Knowing that Naomi made us something special by hand and knowing that no-one else will have a ring the same really gives them even more meaning. True treasures for life.
How was your love story incorporated into your bands?
We fell in love with the organic fluidity of Naomi’s work which we felt represented us and our journey together so perfectly. We have always done things our way, not following the traditional paths of a relationship. We both returned to study in our late 20s to progress our careers further, which has also seen us grow together as a couple. We wanted to celebrate 10 years by skipping the engagement phase and jumping straight into eloping.
Does the diamond in your ring symbolise something special for you?
I always knew I wanted a classic yet understated wedding band, so I decided to add a single diamond to my ring. This has elevated the design with minimal effort which I just love.
